LASEPA: Sealed KANU Nwankwo's Hotel


 The Lagos State government, through the State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), yesterday shut another set of religious houses, industries, club houses and others for contravening the guidelines on noise, air and environmental pollution.
Disclosing this yesterday, the General Manager LASEPA, Engr. Ademola Shabi, said 40 religious outfits were shut in the past two days of enforcement.






Ex Super Eagles football star and Don, Kanu Nwankwo‘s (Papilo) hotel named, Hardley Apartments, was alongside sealed with other factories, night clubs, Churches and other business outfits in Lagos by the ministry of Environment and Protection Agency.



The Agency stated that “When one is exposed to noise level about 150 percent decibel for 6 hours, such exposure could lead to deafness.



“At industrial areas, noise level is meant to be at 90 decibel in the day and 80 decibel at night. In areas where we called mixed (residential and industrial), during the day, the noise pollution is expected to be at 65 decibel and at night 55 decibel.



speaking about Hardley Apartments, it was noticed that the generators powering the hotel had large exhaust pipes facing the road.The Director of Enforcement, Kayode Bello, ordered that one of the generators be tested, and it was discovered that it gave off thick gaseous emissions.

Bello said, “Even the sound is going to be more than 45 decibels at night. We want you to comply ─ that is the reason we are here. We have been on this for more than a year.”

Christ Apostolic Church, Lekki;

Duckland Hotels and Suites, Ikorodu;


Mela Rossa Club, Victoria Island.
